Abstract: | It has often been discovered that it is difficult to sustain success in educational institutions due to change in
government. This study therefore centers on enhancing administrators instructional supervisory roles in
secondary schools in Ekiti State. The study adopted descriptive survey design. Two research questions were
raised and answered in the study. Administrators Instructional Supervisory Questionnaire (AISQ) containing
20 items was developed and used for data collection. The questionnaire was validated by three experts, and its
reliability coefficient was established at 0.81 using Cronbach Alpha level. The AISQ was used for collecting
data from 28 respondents made of secondary school inspectors purposively sampled in Ekiti State. The data
collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation to answer the research
questions raised in the study. The study affirmed that administrators’ instructional supervisory roles in
secondary schools in Ekiti State can be enhanced if given prominence by school administrators. The study
recommended among others that school administrators must embark on activities aimed at enhancing
instructional supervisory roles in schools and that instructional supervision should be accorded its rightful
place in secondary schools in Ekiti State so as to sustain academic successes. |
